As no well-designed commercial mount kits were available where I reside (in Estonia), I decided to make one for my m500 myself.
I discovered that my m500 fits firmly between a piece of Thorsman cable trunking cover (mine happened to be of CAN type). I suppose all BOFH-s and even PFY-s have some of this material lying around. I also found remains of a cheap mobile phone holder made by Carpoint from the garage.
So, here's what you need:
Cut a 40..50 mm piece of the trunking cover with the hacksaw. Note that the case of m500 is narrower in the middle and that the trunking cover will not fit the upper part of the case. Therefore the piece has to be short enough for not to be too tight.
Remove the clamps of the phone holder that are used to mount the holder on the fan/vent grill. Drill the holes into the piece of the trunking cover and rivet the clamps to it. The distance between the holes should be about 40 mm. Just make sure it fits your grill.
To mount the m500 you first have to remove the leather screen protector and the stylus, so that both side slots of the m500 are empty. Then click the clamp onto the vent grill and push the m500 firmly in place. It should sit there quite firmly and should not fall off, because the top of the m500 case is wider than the middle part.
To remove the m500, first take off both the m500 and the clamp, then carefully remove the clamp from m500.
