Comparison of barcode scanner modules for Handspring Visor

Technical specifications found in the table below have been compiled from various sources.

The technical data found from PSC web was very contradictory, especially concerning the battery life. Whether the module's batteries last for 500 or 2,000 scans and should it be recharged for 6 or 12 hours is therefore unclear. You have been warned.

As Momentum has a built-in NiMH rechargeable battery, there is also a risk that when the battery wears out the whole unit must be replaced.

CSM 150 has slimmer design and smaller weight. On both units the original plastic screen protector has to be completely removed, however.

For now PSC seems to have abandoned the original Momentum due to patent issues and replaced it with Momentum II which has the same technical specifications as Symbol's CSM 150. It is probably Symbol's OEM product.
